About SLIM

A Promise to Every Peak and Path

The SLIM story began with a profound connection to the Sherpa people. While trekking, "The Leopard" (a Vancouver native) fell in love with the resilience of the local communities and felt a persistent mission to give back.

Meeting Dr. Ujjwal Shah turned that intent into action. Together, they identified that sustainable change requires more than medicine; it requires future opportunities and community empowerment.

Our Mission

To deliver consistent, high-frequency high altitude medical care and health education to Sherpa communities through a permanent operational loop.

We replace one-time charity with reliable, long-term health infrastructure.

Our Vision

A self-sustaining Sherpa community where geographic isolation no longer limits health or a child’s potential.

We envision a Khumbu region where local leadership and medical excellence work together.

Our Commitment

SLIM Is Not a One-Off Health Camp

We run the MediLoop—a permanent, cyclical medical circuit. Dr. Shah and the team keep moving so every patient receives proper follow-up. If a condition needs advanced care, we arrange fast referral to Kathmandu hospitals.

Today SLIM delivers:
